  • This dad wants truck accessories for Father's Day!

In the United States Father’s Day has become a focal point within the month of June. It started back in 1910 when a woman named Sonora Smart Dodd suggested that we honor fathers with their own special day. Mrs. Dodd and her six siblings were raised by their single father, William Jackson Smart, and she thought that her father, along with all the other fathers in the world, deserved to be honored one day out of the year. In 1913 a bill was presented to Congress asking that the day be awarded national recognition - this would not happen for 59 years because of Congressional opposition. In 1972, President Richard Nixon was compelled to make Father’s Day a national holiday and signed it into law. Every family celebrates the day differently but it is customary in our family to start the day with a huge breakfast and to end with a big BBQ. I guess it’s no secret that I like to eat! • On the Move and Making a Difference

It is a well known fact that automobiles are an important factor in our daily lives.  We depend on vehicles to get us to important places such as work, school, and the occasional doctor’s visit.  Vehicles are also instrumental in helping charities getting their work done and making sure desperately needed items arrive to people in crisis.  Let’s take a look at a few ways vehicles are making an impact in the lives of people.

  • Traveling With Kids Made Easy

Please welcome Mae to our blog.  Mae is one of our Customer Service Specialist and this is her first time blogging for our site.

We’re approaching that time of year where families pack into their cars and drive across America for vacation.  Every summer, I pack my kids in the car and head out on the open road.  Sometimes, we stay close to home, but other times we drive for days, and each trip is an adventure.   Some of our favorite road trips took us to Disney World, the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, etc.  While there are usually a few melt downs along the way, it is all worth it to see the look on your child’s face when they experience something new.

  • Pre-owned vehicles - it ain't what it "used" to be...

It wasn’t that long ago that people were less than thrilled about purchasing used vehicles.  Let’s look at the facts.  Used cars are not unlike the kittens and puppies at the pound – they are unwanted by the original owner.  Next is the fact that they have something in common with your favorite, worn out sneakers – used vehicles tend to also have a lot of mileage on them.  The biggest slap in the face might actually be that the used automobile you’re driving is sporting dings and dents that you didn’t even have the pleasure of causing yourself.  Times have certainly changed.

  • Utlizing Cargo Management to hit the open road...

We are springing our clocks ahead this weekend and now is the time to start thinking about hitting the happy trails whether it be in the car or on a bike.  With so much of the country experiencing a brutal winter, it’s no wonder that people are desperate to grab and hold onto even the smallest sign of spring.  The weatherman said today that the NY/NJ/PA tri-state area will see temperatures rise to the low 50’s this weekend.  Since this area has spent the last few weeks in a Polar Vortex I am sure that the spring like weather will be met with smiles and many different outdoor activities.

  • Memory Lane from the Bed of a Pickup Truck

When you think about your childhood do you flashback to Cabbage Patch Dolls and Gameboys?  I was born in the 1970’s so when I think of being a kid, I think of riding in the bed of my father’s pickup truck on a warm summer night.  I would love it when my dad would put my brother and me in the back of the truck and take us to the lake to swim.  While these memories make me smile, I suspect that lying down in the bed of a pickup truck while my dad tooled around town has something to do with me having serious motion sickness as an adult.  I am chuckling to myself thinking about my mother’s station wagon.  It was seriously ugly and the fights that took place in the back seat between me and my siblings should go down as some of the most brutal and violent back seat fights in history.
